Leading cool climate Australian olive producer ALTO Olives announces the launch of ALTO Mandarin Extra Virgin Olive Oil – the newest addition to the award-winning ALTO portfolio.

This handcrafted organic cold-pressed tangy citrus flavoured oil joins the ALTO range led by the flagship ALTO Vividus, recently hailed Best in Class (Moderate, Mono-Cultivar) and Gold Medal winner at the prestigious 2010 Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition.

Both these oils are blended from handpicked olives grown on the ALTO grove, high in the western foothills of the Great Dividing Range, near Crookwell, NSW, an area traditionally know for its potatoes and lamb.

ALTO founder Robert Armstrong is convinced the particular terroir of the region and that of his 15,000-tree estate is highly suited to olive cultivation.

The new release ALTO Mandarin is a blend of three components – first cold-pressed Extra Virgin oil from estate grown Tuscan origin varieties Frantoio and Leccino, complemented by the addition high quality, natural tangy mandarin oil.

Chefs have already embraced this citrus infused oil for a variety of dishes including seared prawns, crisp-skinned duck breast, Moroccan inspired tagines and salads; marinade for shellfish and crustaceans; mayonnaise, dressings, and cakes.
