25 Sep ALTO VIVIDUS IS SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW CHAMPION
The Sydney Royal Show 2019 olive judges slurped and savoured hundreds of Australian extra virgin olive oils to assess this year’s medal winners. Drum roll please for our flagship single varietal ALTO VIVIDUS that has been recognised as the Sydney Royal 2019 Champion Varietal Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Class 3).
‘Australian olive oils have unquestionably come of age. They impress with purity, intensity and balance – all qualities we seek in our ALTO portfolio. However, Alto Vividus has always struck a higher note,’ says proprietor Robert Armstrong.
‘It is the true expression of our pristine elevated grove and cool climate terroir.’
ALTO VIVIDUS is made from a unique Australian varietal, Hardy’s Mammoth named after the founder of one of Australia’s early family wine companies.
It is a generous bearing variety of larger olives producing an intensely flavoured balanced oil with tropical even guava notes and a lingering palate.
The ALTO Olives portfolio performed exceptionally well at this year’s show tallying three Gold Medals and four Silver Medals, a clear indication of the excellent 2019 season. Gold Medals were awarded to ALTO Robust and ALTO Delicate, while Silver Medals were won by both ALTO Martini and ALTO Misto table olives.
ALTO Olives grove of 20,000 trees is located on the slopes of the Great Dividing Range, near Crookwell in the NSW Southern Tablelands.
