American oleologist Nicholas Coleman, co-proprietor of Grove & Vine, travels the world to source the very best extra virgin olive oils for his bespoke online American-based EVOO oil boutique.


Those explorations recently brought him all the way to the relatively remote NSW Abercrombie Ranges to ALTO Olives, where he was especially beguiled by two 2018 Harvest Tuscan cultivars – Leccino and Frantoio.


These fresh, aromatic pure Australian olive oils have been blended to create Grove & Vines’s Coleman Collection No.11, the very first ALTO EVOO available in the US market.


‘When I first tasted these oils, they blew me away,’ commented Nicholas. ‘We tasted them blind, and they were the cream of the crop.’


He applauds the Leccino for its ‘buttery mouth-feel with grass and black pepper’ and the Frantoio for adding vibrancy, bitterness, and structure with undertones of ‘freshly torn green leaves, mint and rosemary.’
