19 Oct VIVIDUS KEEPS SHINING GOLD
ALTO Olives flagship Extra Virgin oil ALTO Vividus crafted from the Hardy’s Mammoth varietal has again won the Champion Trophy at the 2021 Australian International Olive Awards and a Gold Medal in Class 5d – Other Varietal.
‘ The consistent performance of our prestige single varietal oil Vividus illustrates just how well adapted the variety is to our terroir on the cool lower slopes of the Great Dividing Range,’ remarked ALTO Olives proprietor, Robert Armstrong.
The Hardy’s Mammoth variety is truly Australian. It was first grown in the mid-1800’s by Thomas Hardy (of the wine family) on the banks of the Torrens River is South Australia. It produces large green olives with a high oil content with complex modulated flavours. When grown in a cool climate Vividus displays exceptional balanced pungency and a mellow persistent palate.
